Cover Ups
Crouching Panther Hidden Dragon
This tattoo was already a very bad cover up, another tattooist attempted to cover a black scorpion with a fine line dragon! Wrong on both counts. Only black covers black. Thus 9 times out of ten when one sees a panther it's a cover-up. We still will be adding foliage behind the big cat to complete the image but 4 and a half hours in one sitting was all this guy could take at the time. |

Sun Flower
Another 2 time loser. The collector, got a little flower which he regretted immediately so he went to another tattooist to have it turned into a sun. 15 years later he came to me. This cover up is a Japanese style spider mum. After 15 years he has found an Artist that he wants to stick with rather than being stuck with something he hates. |

Scorp-ster
This is why you should check out the tattooist's work before you turn them lose on your skin. Is that a lobster or a scorpion? Sometimes I have to work with what is there when someone wants to save a tattoo rather than just covering it over. I hate doing lettering and especially trying to make something of bad lettering to start with. I appears that the tattooist had added the "C" in as an after thought. |

Anchor Away
Sometimes it's hard to figure out what a tattoo used to be even with my nose against it. But according to this collector this was once a fine looking anchor with a ribbon that said "Navy"? and some flowers. Whatever it was it is now a reflection of his Irish Heritage and will still look good when it's 20 years old provided he has learned the lesson regarding sunblock. As for "Puddles" sometimes I don't ask I just tattoo! |
Bear in the Tree
Believe it or not, the original was a bear with flames and a tree added later. Even after staring at this mess for hours I was still dumbfounded that someone would let the person who totally screwed up their arm have another shot at it! Third time's a charm. Because tattooing is often a spiritual statement, this is reflected in her "New Tree of Life", each part including the tribal branches is special to her. |

Hooves on a Dragon?
This cover up started with one little question, if that's supposed to be a dragon, why does it have hooves? He was proud of his dragon and equally proud of when he was born. His question: "Can you make the tattoo look better?" My response: "I'd have to stretch to make it look worse!" So here we have a rebuilt DRAGON! Someday he might be able to afford to have me fix the lettering. |

Norma Wire
Not just another stupid name, more of "Love comes and goes but your stuck with a stupid tattoo!" This moron, oh sorry, collector, hand poked this himself. At least there was no one to blame but himself. Bet NORMA wasn't impressed either. Anyway barbed wire hides a world of woes. |

Wire to Wire
Not all tattoos truly suck sometimes it's a matter of technical execution and fine tuning. This tattoo is a fine example of this. |
